Zune HD...Not Touch.

For those of you NON Apple supporters lol, the much anticipated [atleast on my end] Zune HD was released on Sept 15. ZuneHD is running for $220 for the 16GB and $290 for the 32GB models.  I'm still holding on to my 1st Gen Zune [lol] so I may have to upgrade...but unlike iPod, the Zune ends at 32GB. I need way more room then that.

VH1 Goes Back In Time

Last night, VH1 Premiered the return of it's 90s early 2000s Documentary Series "Behind The Music" For those of you who are too young to remember, 'BTM' highlighted the lives of Recording Artist that we normal fans/viewers would not know about. Drugs, abuse, lies, lawsuits, if they did, VH1 showed it. Well one day VH1 aired a Reality Show and 'BTM' was lost for ever....or so we thought...

Ahhh, Facebook just couldn't resist. If most of you logged onto your Facebook account this afternoon, you probably noticed news of a new feature that reminded you of another popular social [micro-blogging] site Twitter. The '@' feature, which on Twitter [or other blog sites] is known as a way for people to leave a comment directed to someone, also known as a 'Mention', Twitter has been known to be famous for using this. Well now it looks like Facebook jumped on that good 'ol bandwagon and adopted the same.

Mr.Steve Jobs announced that there will be a camera added to the new iPod Nanos, but NOT the iPod Touch...why? Because the Touch is meant for games, not taking pictures. [Well that's pretty harsh] He claims that in order to keep the price of the iPod Touch down [$199], they could not afford to add the specs that they would like, such as the "upgraded processor and graphics capabilities like the iPhone 3GS and 32GB and 64GB iPod touch models"

Gardasil: "One Less...Boy?"

The FDA is reporting that Gardisil, a vaccine that prevents certain strains of HPV, "is effective in preventing male genital warts 90% of the time." Talk of supplying the drug to males is being highly considered and supposedly was reviewed this week.

My sister called me today, with a VERY interesting, yet sad story that happened back home in Miami, FL. It seems that a 15 year old boy set up and executed a plot to have his 13 year old friend [*side eye*] kill his mother.  How did they do it? Well when she dropped her son [the 17 year old] off to his father's house, the 13 year old boy snuck up and stabbed her with a steak knife. He hit her collarbone but that did not stop him from continuing to throw jabs at her.....

Btw, she lived.

Of course the two young men were arrested and when detectives asked the son why he wanted his mother killed, he claimed that he, "wanted his mother dead because he hated being forced to attend a posh all-boys' school."

Beware of the SWINE!!!

Nasty right? Yeah I agree.... So the CDC is reporting that they foresee the cases of H1N1 [Swine Flu] to increase now that school has basically begun again. What does this mean? Ya'll better keep them Hand Sanitizers on DECK! Especially everyone on the Southeast of the US because they are saying that "The hardest hit area of the country is currently the Southeast, where schools have been in session for three to four weeks"

And I believe them, people out here sneeze just how that little kid in the picture does [smh]. But get this, the reason they think there are so many Swine Flu cases in the Southeast is because, "most likely be attributed to the fact that students are in such close proximity to one another."....[side eye] Can someone explain that one to me? Are they not that close on the Westcoast or the Northern Region??? Yeah...explain that.

Education vs Politics

Today at 12pm, President Obama will be televised throughout the schools in the US, giving a speech to our youth to stay in school, work hard, be successful. Unfortunately, Conservatives feel that Mr.President is using this opportunity as some sort of Political tactic to BLEED into our children minds, Democratic methods and ideas so that they could control the WORLD!!!...ok so not really but the way these people are so frustrated over a simple "You Can Succeed" speech, you would think we were getting attacked by Some crazy Villain in Gotham City. [smh]

Look, if the President gave a speech especially for me [and my peers] when I wa in 5th Grade, do you know the impact that would have had on me?! To be so young and hear so much talk about politics, you think that that stuff only applies to our parents. That no one cares about what you're doing because you're so young. But to have the President say "keep up the good work, you can really be something in this world", I think that it would have effected me in a good way. Did you really think Jay was gonna wait a few more days to release while YA'LL download his album for free? Lol. Of course not!!! Due to the "high demand of the album" according to Jay himself, he was forced to push the album UP and release it today, Sept 8 instead of the 11th. But don't worry, his concert scheduled for Sept 11 will still be taking place. So go out and buy the album folks.

Happy Birthday to MEEEEE!!!

Yes yes ya'll. Today is my 23rd Birthday and I'm posting on this blog. Doesn't that show dedication!! I found a pretty interesting article on Consumerist.com on the now famous company Cash4Gold. You guys, I'm sure, have seen the commercial advertising that you can send in your old jewelry [gold, sterling, etc] and they will pay you top dollar for it, sending it within 24hrs of them receiving the pieces. Well it seems that some old employees from Cash4Gold did not like the way it was conducting business and decided to talk about it. I always thought that Cash4Gold was some sort of scam. I figured that they would either take your gold, wait forever then send you a bogus check, or they would take your gold say it was worth then leave you with $50 for jewelry worth possibly $300. Well guess what? My guess was right. Seems this company has been scamming a whole lot of folks and I hope you all read into it before you even consider mailing them anything at all.

Don't Call It A Comeback!

Because it's not...So Lil Boog & J Fizz...[or Lil Fizz & J Boog? lol] are not a dynamic duo making songs once again. Why? WHO KNOWS! But bad songs get to bad movies and then we all have to suffer. Long story short, the song is called Bounce and it's on the soundtrack to the 12th Bring It On straight to DVD movie starring The Dream's wife/baby mama Christina Milian *blank stare* Personally the song is ok. Ok, so I didn't want to post this video but I figured ya'll might want an update to the Maia Campbell story thingy...Well the guy she was with at the time is claiming he didn't really know her and that she was there to be in his "music video" [rolls eyes]. Then he goes on to say how she asked him for crack and all of this other foolishness. MY problem with this video, is that this is clearly a serious situation and yet he somehow finds time to shout out his never gonna make it Music Production/Entertainment/Wishfull Thinkers company and all of his lil rap camp. Homie...nobody cares about you. We never even heard of you! We want to know about Maia, now STFU and keep it moving...

MMS - Better Late than Never?

Soooo AT&T will finally add MMS to their iPhones....[I already had it tho lol] Announcing Thursday that they are set to be added September 25th through a software update to the 3G and 3Gs phones. I wonder what that means for 2G users, because CLEARLY AT&T is still selling those phones for under $100. I hope they don't keep those people out...better yet, I hope those people are smart enough to just jailbreak their 2G. No use in not updating to a 3G and still staying locked to AT&T [but that's my opinion].

So why did it take so long? [sigh] Well according to O'Grady's PowerPage, "Officials claim the company had to prepare its network to handle the likely “record” load of data traffic." .....Umm...how are you a 3G network but do not the capacities to handle that? Not to mention the Sept 25th released date is PASSED the date they were supposed to release this upgrade [they said End of Summer, Sept 25 is AFTER the summer]. Come on AT&T, get it together. You can't charge your customers almost $200 a month for bullsh*t plans and yet keep the normal features of 99% of cellphones out. Good thing Im not with that carrier lol [T-mobile FTW!]

Nevertheless, according to the LA Times, "researchers are reporting the tantalizing discovery of antibodies that can prevent the virus from multiplying in the body and producing severe disease." Which is good except I thought they already had the cure...hence the above photo. But good news is good news and I am glad that we are "a step closer"...ain't that right Magic?

It's about time HBCU's got some bigger recognition...HOOOOWWWWEVER, this is not the first HBCU Week. At first I was like, "Yeah right, NEXT"...but after seeing the video, all I can do is shake my head. I guess what looks good on the outside ain't so glamorous on the inside. That fame and money can leave you worse off than before you even knew what a $100 bill looked like. I'm Sorry 2009: Chris Brown's Apology...again

 Last night, CNN aired the Larry King and Chris Brown interview where they discussed that fight between Chris and Rihanna. I'll be honest with you guys, I didn't watch it. I don't care to watch it. Why? Because people are going through that same situation everyday with more drastic results other than bumps and bruises, yet ya'll rather stop the world from spinning simply because Chris did it. Sorry, not I. Chris ain't paying my bills and neither is RiRi. Personally, I feel like both they ass owe ME an apology for giving me a headache with this mess. I'm sorry but they situation has nothing to do with me. And if ya'll feel that I should be concerned with it, then as soon as someone goes off the deep end and beats my ass, yall better be yelling left and right on my behalf too. And I'm not saying what he did was ok, but we don't know the whole story and we damn sure have no right to judge...

The Ruler's Back...Early

Now you all know that Jay-Z's highly [if not the most anticipated] album "Blueprint 3" is set to be released September 11. And even with his little plan to hand deliver it to Tom, Dick, and Sam, the good 'ol internet still won the battle. I got my hands on the album last weekend, and the weekend before that, a friend of my was emailed a copy. So technically, this album's STREET release date was like 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, Im a Jay-Z fan, I really am, but the hype over this album is absolutely ridiculous. It makes no sense at all. In my opinion, it's ok. I heard people bashing Falolous's new album because it was too mainstream. Alot of "radio music" which I guess his fans didn't like too well. Well guess what? Jay-Z's album is no different. Yesterday [yes yesterday] Miss Whitney did her first comeback performance on Good Morning America singing her new hit single "I Look To You" Now personally, I was never too crazy about the song, but it is a nice lil joint for Miss Whitney. HOOOWWWEVER...Once I saw this video I had to give the side eye. Alot of blogs are posting that she simply cannot sing anymore. I think that she did ok. What do you think?

BTW, I cannot possibly be the only one that felt as though she was going to yell "I LOVE YOU BOBBY" right in the middle of all of those 'you you you's' SMH
