Writings From My Myspace...

Yes, you read right. In the times when Myspace was 'hot & poppin', I was a regular blogger, writing mostly about relationships and my views on certain relationship related issues. Well, it was suggested that I post a few on here and after some thought I decided to go for it. So sit back, relax and enjoy :-)

Current mood:  stoked
Hmmm, well it's been awhile since I've had anything to write about. So let's get to it shall we?
Ahem...

I was talking to a co-worker friend today and we were talking about the male cycle. Ya know like the male version of the female period? Well he explained to me that guys actually do have like emotional or sex cycles (this he read in a book, I forget the title), almost like phases of the moon. Like seasons or something. I don't know it was pretty interesting so I made note to do my own research when I get home because at the time when we were talking, I was too busy looking at him looking at me and the whole time I'm thinking, "This single man is almost perfect. Looks good, good job, funny, smart, 2 degrees, young, and SINGLE!" Yes ladies I have found a rare species! Right there in his little 6x5 cubicle! Well it was 20min after work and I went back to my desk to lock my laptop and grab my purse. Guess what? He waits for me. Wait that's not it, he walks me to my car! Now me and this guy are strictly friends, (if you knew us, you'd know why) but what blew my mind was the fact that there are actually decent men still around! The last time a guy waited for me and walked me to my "source of transportation" (LOL) and held great conversations with me was in highschool (Luv you D.O. ). But when you're young, you don't appreciate things like that. You figure every guy has to do that. Or maybe I was just spoiled at that time. Now that I'm older, I cannot remember a time after highschool where a guy was able to hold an intelligent conversation for any length of time or even walk me to my car! Just being a gentleman. Seriously, that's sad. Think I'm joking? I went on a date one night (I drove us there by the way). Had fun! I really did, UNTIL, we got back in the car afterward and he asked me to run him to the store..Target to be exact....ok. No problem. Take advantage of the ride. It's cool since you spent like $70 on our date....but then as we're leaving he asks if I could pay him back my portion of the date because money is tight for him right now. WHAT?! Are you SERIOUS! So clearly I took dude straight home and paid his ass back the next day. Why? Because I rather not have some lame stalking me about some date money. I'm grown, I can afford to pay him back. I should've known better because the guy was like 25 and....Im not even going to mention everything else that's wrong with him. Just know that he is WHACK! And still today he blows up my phone trying to meet up again. HA!

So you can imagine why I was so fascinated by my co-worker friend.

People, I know that there are still good black men out there. Atleast before today, I just kept telling myself that. Telling myself that Essence was hiring actors when they claimed to have found good black single men. That the people in the Just Married section of JET were somehow associated to JET, therefore they had the hookup to all the good black men lol That is, until today. It hit me! I have proof! He works with me! Invites me to lunch! Picks up my favorite soup while he's at the store just because he knows I like it! And he's still just a friend! Nothing in between! (Trust me, he really is just a friend...and far from gay so don't go there) I know what you're thinking, "Surely I must have other male friends that do all of these things?" Yes you are right. They hold the door, if I need help with something they are there. They have good jobs, smart, college degree......but they also sleep around, lie, and do all the things they know I hate. They may be a good man to YOU but they have not passed MY 10point inspection! BUT, all hope is not lost. I'm standing by this proof, it is in fact possible for a man to not have a bunch of baby mama drama, be addicted to sex, not swear up and down he's a goon, not have illegal side hustles or hoes in different area codes. But instead have goals, and a good job and that read books other than Vibe Mag, GIANT mag, or XXL mag (notice I mentioned no book titles).

Yes ladies, they do exist.
Now if I could only find one for myself..."

OMGheee!!!

What in the world is wrong with these people having kids and passing down their ignorance! Here is a little girl saying some stuff you would NOT believe! This is truly sad. Jesus take the wheel....

Tom Joyner Fights for Pardon

You all may or may not listen to the Tom Joyner Morning Show [I do..don't judge me lol], if so you may have heard him discussing the case involving the wrongful death of his great uncles over in South Carolina.

He is seeking pardon of his two great-uncles, Thomas and Meeks Griffin, who were executed by the electric chair in 1915. They were wrongfully convicted of murdering an Confederate Army Veteran and according to records found, also given an unfair trial.Joyner wasn't aware of this incident until 2008 during a documentary on PBS and has researched all of the information since then. AP reports, "The Griffins were forced to sell their 130 acres to finance their defense. After they died in the electric chair on Sept. 29, 1915, Joyner's grandmother moved to Florida, where the family's known history begins."

"In June 2008, Joyner, Gates and legal historian Paul Finkelman wrote Gov. Mark Sanford seeking a pardon." The case is scheduled today and Tom Joyner claimed on his show that if they do not grant his uncles their pardon, 'there will be some table flippin'...Ok Tom...right. I find this story interesting however. I too have family in South Carolina and wonder what history I may have buried there. I'll keep you posted on the outcome of the hearing."

FAIL of the Week

As a [loyal] Tmobile customer, it saddens me to have to post this but come one Tmobile...you guys have been slacking lately. Luckily I don't have a Sidekick [anymore] but for those of you who do, I know you've been pretty upset with our dear 'ol carrier for the past week or three...

It seems that Tmobile had a server crash which caused all Sidekick phone users to lose their data. Yes, that means, phone numbers, notes, calender entries, photos, codes, passwords, etc etc...All gone. Please note however, that not ALL users lost their information...most, but not all. Tmobile/Danger sent it's apologies however could not explain what caused the crash or how it has been fixed [atleast I haven't found anything stating why].

Upset customers took the the Tmobile message boards and one was even banned for his rants. "T-Mobile banned me from their forums because I was voicing my opinion about their outage and suggesting customers contact the Washington State Attorney General's office," said Richard Anderson in his blog about the data loss. Anderson describes himself as a "business owner who lost 300+ contacts, 30+ tasks, 20+ notes and countless reminders on his Calendar that will take countless hours to rebuild."

***NOTE: Why is a business owner working from a Sidekick anyways? Isn't that what Blackberrys are for? Hmmm...

Anyways, in an effort to reconcile with their customers, Tmobile offered each Sidekick user a $100 gift card. *dead*

Revs VS Rush Limbaugh?

Rush Limbaugh recently put in a bid to buy the St. Louis Rams on Monday and this has caused a uproar in both the black communities as well as the NFL, particularly the football players. The Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have both attacked Limbaugh, saying "the conservative radio host’s track record on race should exclude him from owning an NFL team."

They are both working very hard to prevent this buy from happening, even going as far as sending a letter to Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, explaining his argument that Limbaugh has made "anti-NFL" comments on his show and in a telephone interview, said that Limbaugh had made his wealth “appealing to the fears of whites” with lines of insults against blacks and other minorities.

HuffingtonPost reports, “The National Football League has set high standards for racial justice and inclusion,” Jackson said. “He should not have the privilege of owning an NFL franchise—and it is a privilege.”

It seems that some of the players are also concerned about the bid, and this morning while listing to V103 Franksi & Wanda Morning Show, listeners flooded the station's telephone lines with concern that Limbaugh will make it difficult for minority football players to play if they are drafted onto the team.

Do you think Limbaugh should be able to buy a football team?

OMGeee!!!

Meet Gwen Thompson...

According to the NY Post, she's the new addition to the American Girl doll collection by Mattel. She's young, pretty, wearing a nice clean white dress and her hair is nicely done. BTW...she's HOMELESS!

"SEGGGGGAAAAAAA"

Oh how I miss the early 90s...
